My Philosophy/Background
I have been in the classroom as a teacher, substitute, teacher’s aide, and tutor for 8 years now. I have always loved school, and still do to this day. As a young child I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I believe that we all have a calling in life, and for me teaching is my calling. The ability to help and teach students new concepts is what I love to do.
As a first grade teacher I want to instill the love for learning within every child. I believe that every child can learn through various learning styles. I have found that facilitated teaching benefits the students much more than dictating teaching. I want to challenge the young minds of today, and be able to show all children that a love for reading, math, writing, science, social science, and technology is essential in today’s world.
I believe that education is the key triumph and success for our students. As a teacher I hope to motivate and help students achieve their potential. I would like to inspire all students and help them find their inner strength.
I believe that it takes a village to raise a child. I have an open door policy and I love when parents come into my classroom. I think that communication between the teacher and the parents are very important.
I currently have a Multiple Subjects Credential with a CLAD emphasis from California State University of Long Beach. I hold the No Child Left Behind certification, and I have my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also fluent in Spanish.
