My major focus this year is to help the children transition into independent, resourceful learners. Your children are going to become much more self-reliant this year, drawing from their own knowledge base, their peers, and a variety of resources around the room, before soliciting help from me, the teacher. We want them to take ownership of their learning, so they will be well prepared for the increased responsibility in second grade.
