Hello, my name is Kelli Gatlin.  This is my first year at WPACS and my fourth year teaching.  I am a mother of two wonderful children, a cat and a dog.  I am originally from northern California, but have lived here and there throughout my life.  I am inspired by the career I've chosen as a teacher because I truly believe that knowledge and children are the best life has to offer.

My educational philosophy is simple.  There is not only one aspect of a child that determines his or her level of intelligence.  There are many things to look at and as a teacher I do my best to educate the whole child.  I want my students to have knowledge of themselves and the world around them.  I want them to be inspired to learn by me and the other wonderful teachers out there, just as I was motivated by my 5th grade teacher.

I  believe the true key to a child's educational success requires a well planned and dedicated teacher (like me), involved parents (like you), and a school community that will support and nurture all the needs of the child (WPACS).

I look forward to a wonderful school year, but it will be challenging.  We will be working hard to improve reading comprehension, mathematic skills and problem solving ability, as well as build a strong foundation in science and history.  Let's get busy!
