Reading

  • Analyze a character’s personality or behavior.
  • Identify the main idea and find the supporting details of a story.
  • Identify the cause and effect of a story.
  • Describe the sequence of  a story.
  • Predict the outcome of a story.
  • Make comparisons of different stories.
  • Distinguish between fact and opinion.
  • Summarize a story.
  • Draw a conclusion.

Language

  • Write a sentence that has a complete thought.
  • Know usage of punctuation marks.
  • Identify the eight parts of speech and use them correctly in a sentence.
  • Identify the four types of sentences.
  • Identify the parts of a sentence.
  • Know the natural word order of a sentence.
  • Write a sentence with subject-verb agreement.
  • Know capitalization rules.
