Dear Parents/Guardian,

Welcome to our 3rd grade class! My name is Ms. Joanna Li and I am extremely excited to be starting a brand new school year here at Wilder’s Preparatory Academy Charter School!  I look forward to meeting and getting to know each and every one of you.  My teaching motto is “if you try your best, you will succeed.”  It is my goal to provide your child with a structured learning environment focusing on individual achievement and growth.  In order to ensure that the classroom environment is conducive to productive learning, I will have a very structured classroom management system.  I will hold each student accountable for his/her actions.  The success of your child/my student is dependent on 3 separate parties: the student, the teacher, and the parents/family.  I will dedicate myself to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for my students, and wish the same from you, of your child.   I welcome you to visit, observe, and participate in all aspects of your child’s learning!

The following are some suggestions for helping your child become an active and positive learner in the third grade:

  • Talk about his/her day at school
  • Encourage your child to read daily and read with your child
  • Treat homework time as quality time
  • Review new concepts, practice number facts, and help your child study each day

This year will be filled with excitement, enriching activities, and educational advancement for each student.  Your child’s time here will be well spent.  We have a great group of children in this class and I am very enthusiastic about this upcoming year.  With your help we can and will make this year a very fulfilling one.  I thank you in advance for your support and again, look forward to meeting all of you.

In Service,

Ms. Joanna Li
