Greeting Parents,

          Welcome to the fourth grade, my name is Ms. Rollins and I am your child’s fourth grade teacher.  I am excited to be able to teach your child this year.  Fourth grade is a year in which students learn about factions & decimals, concepts of angle measurements and negative numbers.  Students also practice writing multi-paragraph essays, identify and analysis literature and work on fluency and comprehension skills.  Students will be exploring the concepts of magnetism, plant and animal adaptation and California History.  These are just a few things that we will be studying this year, as you can see it is going to be an exciting, but compacted year, for you child.  

          However, in order for students to keep up it is extremely important that students are able to recall their multiplication facts quickly.  That is why I hope you will work alongside me to practice daily with your child until they learn them.  Weekly I will try to test them in multiplication and/or division. 

          My educational philosophy is to motivate students to discover their inner strengths and abilities and learn what truly inspires them. I will provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to become self monitoring and confident, so each student can realize their full potential.
