Homework Policy
The purpose of homework is to reinforce what was taught in class. Homework is a necessary part of learning. There will be a reasonable amount of homework in ELA that emphasizes the material covered in class that day.. “Home” work should be a reflection of the student’s home when turned in, that is, it should be neat, attractive and smudge/stain free.
Homework is due the next scheduled class meeting unless noted by the instructor himself. Any student that is absent the day homework is assigned or the day that it is due has 1 academic day AFTER their return to get the assignment, complete it, and turn it in to the instructor.
Here are some tips to help your child be successful with homework completion:
- Holes should be on the left hand side of the paper.
- Homework should be legible and neat.
- All problems assigned should be completed.
- Answers to homework questions should always be in complete restated sentences.
- All ELA work should be in cursive, using blue or black ink ONLY.
- If a child comes in without the assignment, even if “forgotten” in locker, the parent will be contacted immediately.
- Parents should review the homework before student places the assignment in his/her binder.
